Waking up to the sunrises from the Pic des Mouches was a real treat. The night at the foot of the Sainte was short but really pleasant, and Louis and Maggy were so welcoming. Louis is friendly and passionate about the region, and I loved chatting with him. Breakfast was exceptional, the kind you’d expect at a top establishment. I’ll definitely come back. Thank you both for having me!

Thank you, Louis, for two lovely days. You’re a true lover of the region and such a bon vivant that time with you just flies by. It was a wonderful encounter and a beautiful moment. If I were you, though, I’d change... nothing! 😜 Take care.

The pool was like a swamp, and the rooms were unclean, with dead animals on the floor and dirty linens. There was also a smell of smoke from the fireplace. Two couples were staying, but we all had to use the tub in one room to wash. The two elderly people there paid us no attention at all. I travel often and stay in all sorts of places, but I’ve never had to leave because the conditions were so bad. I wonder how a facility with such poor hygiene, or even a possible health risk, can be allowed to host the public. I absolutely advise against going there. Please think about your health. Anyone with asthma will definitely have problems.

The elderly hosts were extremely friendly and tried hard to help, though their limited English made communication difficult for international guests. That was one bright spot in a stay that didn’t feel worthwhile to me. The bathroom is shared with the owners, which affects both comfort and privacy. There’s also a cat that keeps its cat around, and the house had a very unpleasant smell. The place seems to have peaked about 20 years ago and no longer meets what modern travelers expect. In my opinion, it shouldn’t still be listed on booking platforms like Booking.com. I can’t recommend it, and I hope Booking.com refunds the full amount without cancellation fees.
