The smell on arrival was awful, and it wasn’t clean. Logis Avocette is very run-down: the kitchen is in ruins, the utensils are disgusting, and the shower is covered in limescale. The toilet paper is stuck in the door. Getting upstairs is difficult, and the mattress is worn out with an unusable pillow.

It’s peaceful, surrounded by nature, and well placed for Le Hourdel, Ault, Mers-les-Bains... The owner is friendly. But the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired, and upstairs in the "La Bernache" accommodation there’s no door between the two sleeping areas, so there’s no privacy at all.

The family found it convenient, and our dog could safely go outside thanks to the barrier. The scenery is lovely and calm, perfect for a walk, and the host welcomed us warmly and was punctual and pleasant. It matched the booking photos and was good value for money. Just remember to bring your own bed linen for gîtes, we forgot 😑. I recommend it.

There’s a lot of space, which is a shame because the apartment is completely outdated and aging badly. The bathroom is old, and there were cobwebs in both the bathroom and toilet. The paintwork and some walls are damaged, and we occasionally noticed sewage or toilet smells. In short, the Booking.com description is misleading.
