Sofitel Quiberon Thalassa Sea & Spa

The ocean view and saltwater spa with its hydrotherapy zones were highlights, but the stay fell short of what I expect from a five-star hotel. We got no communication before arrival, and policy meant we couldn't use the spa until check-in. I also asked about a possible room upgrade because we were celebrating a birthday and wanted to showcase the hotel positively. The answer was that it would cost extra, with little interest in the guest experience. The rooms are small and dated compared with the photos. The spa smelled unpleasant, the hammam was out of service, and the old sauna stopped working. Staff apart from management were kind and helpful. It's a beautiful place, but the inflexible policies and lack of communication kept this from feeling like a true five-star stay.

The pool, water areas and sea-facing deck are amazing, and the concierge team really made my stay special. Christophe, Clement and Claude deserve a special mention. I stayed for three weeks this summer and plan to return next year. The hotel is aging, the rooms are okay but have no air conditioning, and the food and drinks are average and overpriced. Some staff follow-ups are hit and miss, though everyone was kind. One issue needs fixing: non-EV cars keep parking in the electric charging spots because their drivers can't be bothered to park farther away. Hotel staff say they can't do anything about it. They could register guests' licence plates at check-in, for example, and address it that way.

The staff were genuinely friendly, and the hotel, its location and services were excellent. Thank you very much.

A really pleasant hotel, and this was our second visit. The pool is great, it's close to the ocean, and we found it very relaxing. Since the nearby towns are quite a walk away, it would be nice if the bar, for example, stayed open an hour later.
