Best Western Hotel Kregenn

The hotel was very quiet during our two nights in the King Room, so there wasn’t much going on in the bar or restaurant. Still, it was a pleasant place to stay, and having easy on-site parking was a real bonus.

The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were both friendly and professional. Our room was clean, and the service was good. A comfortable, straightforward stay in Quimper.

I felt at ease traveling alone here. The mother and son who own and run this Best Western seemed to genuinely care that guests were comfortable and safe, and they kept an eye on who was coming and going. Stan and his mother were always around, setting out petite dejeuner, helping guests check in or out, or taking care of things. Stan was warm and friendly, and had useful restaurant and excursion tips when I asked. The location worked well for exploring on foot. It’s about 15 minutes from the train station and around 7 minutes from the town square, St. Corentin cathedral, shops, restaurants, and boulangeries. I liked having breakfast included: it was tasty, had a good variety, and included organic options. I enjoyed wandering around on my own, finding a shop, museum, restaurant, or a park bench where I could read and eat a baguette with cheese and fruit. It felt relaxing and very French. I’d read comments that the area was a bit rough, but I thought it was fine and slept with my second-floor windows open all three nights. There are a few empty storefronts on the side street, as you see in towns everywhere. The rooms are simple, clean, and tidy, and the hotel is convenient. You’re not expecting the Four Seasons, of course, and you’re not paying for it. I’d recommend staying here for the friendly owners, good breakfast, and easy location. The staff were lovely, gave us restaurant suggestions, and even let us leave the car in the car park after checkout while we explored Quimper. I also liked that they offer filter water at reception to cut down on plastic bottles. Our dog-friendly accessible room on the ground floor was great, and the bed was so comfortable I slept really well. The continental breakfast was good, served in pleasant surroundings. The stylish hotel is tucked down a side street close to the cathedral, restaurants, and bars.
