The guy who rented us the room was really friendly and helpful, and the facilities were amazing. There’s even a games room with ping pong and table football. Three of us stayed with a tent and paid just 15 euros altogether. I don’t know if that price applies all year, but it’s crazy cheap. Would definitely recommend, 10/10.

The location made it easy to explore the D-Day beaches and nearby historical sites, all just a short drive away. Mont St Michel is about an hour and a half away too, with plenty of supermarkets and good restaurants around. Clint, a retired Army Captain, knows a lot about D-Day and military history and can help you choose museums. The Normandy victory Museum was superb, and the WW2 Dodge Truck tour through the area and Bocage was brilliant. Book ahead so you don’t miss out. Both are about a 15-minute drive away. There’s also a pretty lane nearby for a walk, where we spotted lots of creepy crawlies and bugs. We spent five nights at Le Clos Castel in August, on a friend’s recommendation. Our group was two adults and two kids. Clint arranged two adjoining rooms so the kids could be close by. There are different room sizes and bed setups, and Clint and Carol can join or separate rooms to suit what you need. Breakfast was included, served from 7:30 to 9:00. Clint or Carol would make an early trip to the bakery for fresh goods, and the fridge had local meat and cheese plus a good selection of fruit. If you’re camping, you can order bakery items for the next morning. The house has a lounge with TV, DVDs and board games. You can also use the dining and breakfast room in the evening for a game or a glass of wine. The barn beside the house, which you can reach from the camping area, is now a games room with table football, pool, table tennis and outdoor pétanque and Molky. There’s a projector and sofas for watching a movie. We were out for long days, but it came in handy to keep the kids busy while we got ready for trips. On our last day, some kids from the campsite had damaged the table football and pool cues. Hopefully they’ve been repaired by the time we return. The rooms were spotless and furnished with lovely pieces that suited the building and the area. We can’t fault the cleanliness. Clint and Carol were very welcoming, and we’d happily come back soon.

The location was ideal for visiting the Normandy landing beaches. We camped here in late March, in the shoulder season, and were glad we chose it. Clint was a relaxed, knowledgeable host who knew the area and D-Day well. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The grounds are gorgeous and very well kept, and everything was clean. The bedroom was quiet and dark, with a comfortable mattress, sumptuous bedding, and a great shower. There was also an ensuite toilet and sink, plus a kettle with tea, biscuits and bottled water, and a hairdryer. The couple running the place were lovely and humble. They communicated well in the months before our three-night stay and while we were there, and they really made the visit delightful. Breakfast was delicious, and we could use the breakfast room for a light evening meal. There’s a guest lounge with comfortable chairs and a TV, as well as a games room. It’s a great base for exploring Normandy and good value for money. For what we paid, I have no cons.

We stayed for one night and found the place clean and charming. Breakfast was a high-quality continental spread, with yogurt, croissants, bread, cheeses, cold cuts, jams and coffee. We had a nice chat with the hosts, who suggested the D-Day Experience museum. It ended up being our favorite museum in the area. I’d gladly stay here again if I return to Normandy.
