The breakfast was a real treat, with homemade juices, cereals, yogurt, bread, meats, cheeses, eggs cooked to order, and freshly made tea and coffee. We could eat inside or in the courtyard. The courtyard was also lovely in the evening, with a view over the swimming pool. We ate our own meal there one night, and Ed and Fred even took care of the dishes. There's a fridge, microwave, plates and utensils for guests, plus a small honesty bar that's stocked just right. Our room was spacious, tastefully furnished, spotless, and had a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked perfectly and was silent. The bathroom was roomy, with plenty of space in the shower, and it was nice to have a Nespresso machine in the room. Wi-Fi was fast and stable. We stayed for two nights at the end of June. The property is in a very quiet rural spot, though restaurants are only a short drive away, and Ed and Fred suggested some good options. They also gave us helpful ideas for places to visit and where to stop on our way down the coast. When we got back from being out, they were genuinely interested in hearing what we'd seen and thought. The heated pool was spotless, pool towels were provided, and there were lots of loungers, tables and chairs, both in the sun and shade. After we phoned ahead with our estimated arrival time, they met us and showed us where to park by the rear entrance. It was just a few steps into the striking pool courtyard. They then showed us around the house and told us some of its history on the way to our room. The entrance hall and staircase are stunning. Ed and Fred are first class hosts and clearly proud of their beautiful home. We'd definitely stay again without hesitation. Thank you, Ed and Fed.
