Domaine de la Bade

The grounds were a real pleasure to explore, with woods and meadows, and Joep’s care for nature made the birdsong especially lovely. Our group of five adults and three children spent a week at Domaine de la Bade in May in Gite Malpere. The place has a lovely shaded terrace with a big oak table, a decent sized pool, and a play area with petanque and table tennis. Inside, there’s plenty of room, spacious bedrooms, very comfortable beds, and a big, well equipped kitchen. Miranda and Joep were friendly and so helpful. We especially enjoyed the midweek Table d'hote, Joep is a great cook, and the arrival meal was much appreciated. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Thank you.

Joep and Miranda welcome you warmly, and the guest homes are impeccable. Our stone cottage felt like a lovely place to spend time with the people we came with. There’s a sparkling pool, and nearby you can enjoy the historic region’s food and other attractions. If you’re after a South of France retreat where everything feels right with the world, this is the place.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The hilltop setting is stunning, with mountains, vineyards and olive trees all around. The sunrise and sunset views were so lovely I kept taking photos. The gîtes are nicely decorated, comfortable, well equipped for longer stays, and have good beds. There’s a lovely pool area and a wonderful playground for kids. It feels private and rural, yet there’s a shop in a nearby village just five minutes away, and lots of sightseeing around this land of the Cathars. Joep and Miranda put a lot of effort into making your stay as perfect as you want, no mountain too high. Highly recommend.
