The rooms were spacious, and the chef made wonderful use of fresh, seasonal ingredients. We spent a weekend at Château de Chargé for a close friend's wedding, and the owners were attentive and made us feel at home. The château has been beautifully restored, and it’s a lovely setting for an intimate wedding. A charming countryside stay we’ll remember.

The catering was really high quality, and the Château de Chargé and its team lived up to what we hoped for. We held our small wedding there on May 23rd, and the peaceful, beautiful setting was just right for an intimate celebration. We’d happily come back for a weekend or another special occasion, and recommend it for family events.

The owner, chef, and staff all add to the special atmosphere here. Inside and out, everything is beautifully restored and has what you need. It’s a wonderful venue for private events of up to 50 people, as well as business seminars.

The staff were attentive, and we ate like kings. I organized a seminar with some CGT union members and friends from the Earth Uprising movement, and everything went really well. Great place, especially if you have communist, eco-bobo, or Scientologist friends.

The setting is charming, but it didn’t make up for the poor service or the meal. I only went for dinner. There was no choice, just a starter, main course, and dessert, with no real effort in the presentation and no amuse-bouche or petit fours. For 48 euros per person, wines by the glass were served in very stingy amounts. The meal was a mackerel fillet, meatloaf with potatoes, and a shriveled baba, food worth about 5 euros. It felt like highway robbery. I was meant to return in October with friends, but canceled. Don’t go there under any circumstances.
