Hotel Europe and SPA

The beds were comfortable, and the receptionist was kind, friendly and lovely. The associated spa looked nice too. But there were a lot of problems: air conditioning was broken throughout the hotel, the toilet seat and bathroom sink tap were broken, and there was no water in the rooms or coffee and tea setup. The towels were small, frayed and rough. Even the cappuccino button on the machine gave hot chocolate instead. The location was great, and staff were friendly, but the stay had too many issues.

The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, and we could see the Cathedral in the distance. Breakfast was basic but perfectly acceptable, and the location near Reims' main area is good value. The hotel is clean and simple, as you'd expect for the price, though I thought there'd be tea and coffee in the room. I also found out that hotel parking costs €14, despite the booking.com listing suggesting parking was available. We parked across the street for €17 and had already been there 3-4 hours, so moving the car and paying both fees would've cost more. Not a huge deal, but I didn't expect to pay separately for parking at a hotel that has it. We arrived early and could pull up outside to get the details.

The staff were nice, and the room was large for the fair price, though the building is old. The sheet wasn't clean, and the buffet breakfast fell short of what I expected.

The bed was comfortable, but the carpet looked pretty dirty and the windows needed another coat of paint. The room smelled odd, as if previous guests had smoked there. It was very cramped, which I expect from a city centre hotel, but having your knees hit the door when you sit on the toilet and try to close it is a bit much.
