A lovely 19C château, with large grounds, outbuildings, a swimming pool, and even a farm.

The host was warm and accommodating, which added to a really wonderful stay. The Château has a striking setting, with a beautifully preserved castle and spacious, peaceful grounds. It has so much historical charm that it feels like stepping back in time, while still offering modern comforts. Our room was spacious and the bed incredibly comfortable. The care taken with the details around the property stood out too. It’s a lovely choice for a special occasion or a quiet retreat, and I’d highly recommend it for a unique, relaxing getaway in France.

We had a family suite for one night and got the entire top left towers. There was lots of character, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and very well kept. The grounds were looked after too. If you want to stay in a chateau, this one is well worth visiting. Would recommend.

The grounds are absolutely huge and beautiful, and it was great meeting the whole team. Vallerie was a fantastic host at Chateau Le Brossay. We had a lovely long weekend, thank you very much. I hope we can come back in the years to come, especially to see the swimming pool take shape.

We were exhausted after a long drive down from Normandy, but still left the Chateau and drove to Nantes, where we found a nice hotel before our flight to Dublin the next day. The place had a rather creepy feeling, and our room had nowhere to put our clothes, no tea or coffee facilities, and no door keys. A man showed us to the room and later brought us a bottle of water. I had booked the Chateau for one night, Sunday 22 May, 2022, along with a three course evening meal and breakfast the next morning. The day before, the property emailed to say road works might make it hard to find, and gave us a phone number in case we got lost. We did get lost, less than 5 minutes from the property at a sports ground in the nearest town. When I called for help, I was told to wait at the church for an hour. In the end I asked a young man watching the football for help. When the lady of the manor finally returned, I asked about dinner. I couldn't believe the answer: food from some unknown outside source would arrive in jars, though the lady would provide a plate. These people should come to Ireland to experience good hospitality.
