The pillows are so thick that neither of us could use them, and we both ended up with severe neck pain. Bring your own. The bathrooms are tiny, and there’s no tea or coffee setup in the room. Staff are friendly, but there’s no one on duty at night and no bar. It’s a very basic hotel, and other brands do better for similar prices.

The location is handy for Rennes city centre and for getting back on the road to other destinations. Booking in at any time was easy, and it worked well for a quick stop and some rest. The staff were super friendly.

We couldn't judge how close it was to local attractions since we only stopped to sleep before continuing our long road trip. For a last-minute one-night stop, this basic place was entirely adequate and excellent value. The room was clean and spacious enough for our toddler's travel cot, and the bed had a very comfortable mattress. The shower was hot with good water pressure. The downside was a strong cigarette smell left by the previous occupant. Breakfast was an all-you-can-eat buffet, with more variety than we expected: bacon, eggs, sausages, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit, yogurt, juice, tea, and coffee. The coffee was poor, and the machine wasn't working properly. It kept adding a little hot chocolate to my coffee.

We had to switch rooms after arriving to a site with no staff present. We had not received our access code yet, and the machine wouldn't recognize our booking number, so we used the intercom. Someone answered and gave us the code. The first room smelled intensely of cigarette smoke, enough to settle in the back of our throats, and water from a leaking ceiling had pooled by the door. There was no extra security either, since anyone from outside could walk up and knock. Staff arranged an upgraded room for us through the intercom. It was much nicer, though still accessible to anyone coming in from outside. This wasn't our first choice, but it did the job for a night's sleep.
