Kyriad Rennes Centre Gare

The staff were friendly, and the hotel was surprisingly clean and well soundproofed. Breakfast is simple but covers what you need, though you have to boil the eggs yourself. For a three-star hotel, it’s very good value. The station is a one-minute walk away, so it suits tourists taking day trips by train.

The service stood out most. Nadeem was a big help finding the Avis location, and Zouharai was lovely and helped me choose restaurants. The location is incredible, the rooms are clean, the internet is strong, and breakfast is good.

It's handy for the station and nearby places to eat, but I wouldn't stay again. We slept badly and didn't feel safe because of the connecting doors. The rooms were only okay, and the cleaning was poor: every towel was dirty, both toilet rolls had already been used, the shower soap was empty, and there was a clump of what looked like blonde hair or dog fur by the table. We arrived early and were told our room was a priority, so I was surprised it hadn't been cleaned or checked properly. The tea and coffee supplies were awful too, including a visibly torn-open teabag. And I don't recommend breakfast.

The location works well for the train and bus stations, and it's a pleasant walk into the city centre. The bathroom had clearly been renovated recently and was the best part of the room. The bed was comfortable enough. When I asked at reception whether they had toothpaste, they said they had shaving cream. City tax was €1.32.
