Le Lorient Hotel

Finding a place to park was the frustrating part, since the hotel has no parking lot and nearby spaces are hard to find. The welcome was pleasant and the staff were attentive, doing what they could to keep guests comfortable. My room was fairly spacious, and even had a kitchenette.

The room had old or inadequate equipment, only lukewarm water, and an unheated shower room. You can hear through the walls, and the wooden floors and uninsulated ceilings carry noise throughout the building. Breakfast was very limited, just the basics of a sweet breakfast. The hotel is fine for a quick overnight stop, but I wouldn't expect much beyond that. There are some positives: the welcome was warm, the staff helpful, and prices are below average for this area. It’s about a ten-minute walk from Rennes city center, on a busy street that quiets down in the evening.

The clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, and friendly welcome made this good value for money. They even helped me cancel a room at the last minute. The room was small and the bathroom functional, so I wouldn't choose it for a whole trip, but it worked well for a short stay.

The staff were especially considerate. When an urgent family matter meant we had to leave earlier than planned, they really tried to work something out for us. Thanks again. Our room and bathroom were small but spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. The stay was simple and just right. There are rooms in different sizes, so mention what you need when booking.
