Le Magic Hall

The room was lovely, and the walk to and from Pontchaillou station was easy, with a scenic route along the canal. The only small drawback was the heat. Our west-facing room got particularly hot during the hot season, though the staff brought us a standing fan and we really appreciated it. We knew there was no AC, so that wasn't an issue with the hotel, just something to know when booking. We stayed two nights and loved the warm, fun atmosphere at Magic Hall. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and they welcomed our 6-year-old dog with open arms. They also kept our luggage after checkout so we could explore before our train. It was a lovely, memorable stay, and we'll be back.

We felt very welcome here. Before our early train, with all our luggage, the friendly man at the desk went out of his way to show us the quickest route to the Metro. The room was beautiful, with a very nice bathroom, and the staff were friendly. A cool hotel in Rennes, thank you!

We chose it for visiting Rennes by car, and it worked well. It's less than five minutes on foot from the city center, just outside it, where parking is possible, though you have to pay. The shared space is super cozy, with lots of art, a huge library, a serious hi-fi system, and even a recording studio. Our room was tiny but quiet, clean, and very cozy. The rooms seem to have different themes. The bed was absolutely comfortable and we slept really well. The toilet setup was the usual French one, it is what it is. Breakfast was good, with limited choice but nice food. The staff were polite and easygoing.

We loved our stay. The room and hotel were fun, comfortable, and clean, and great value for money. Everyone was so helpful. It's tucked away somewhere quiet, yet the city centre is only minutes away on foot.
