The hosts are wonderful, the accommodation is super, and the gardens are fantastic. It’s fairly central for places to visit. It took nearly 500 miles to get here, but if I could live here, I would. I absolutely love it.

The garden by the stream was such a relaxing spot, especially with a calvados. We got to try a local one for free, and I came away with a bottle. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and breakfast had a generous spread of homemade jams. Friendly hosts and a lovely setting made for an easy stay. The one letdown was that none of us could get connected to any of the WiFi.

There’s charm everywhere here, from the long garden and the river running through it to the beautifully renovated old buildings. We had a pleasant room and a delicious breakfast made by Isabelle, including her freshly baked croissant. Isabelle and Jean Michel were generous, attentive hosts, and the location worked well for most of the D-day beaches and sites. If you’re after a small, authentic boutique-hotel kind of stay, La Malposte is lovely. Thank you, Isabelle and Jean Michel, for making our visit so restful and enjoyable.
