We only spent one night here on the way to Spain, though I wish we'd had more time. The B&B is right in the middle of Richelieu, within walking distance of the central square for a drink or meal. From the street, you'd never guess what's behind the big wooden door: a beautiful, well-maintained French garden. Our host welcomed us warmly, mostly in French, then showed us to one of the lovely bedrooms. The place has an old-fashioned, almost knight-or-princess feel, with modern comforts. The bathroom and everything else were clean and nice. Breakfast is very French, so don't expect a full American-style spread. I hope I can return one day. Thank you!

Catherine, the owner, made us feel very welcome and was incredibly kind. We had an unforgettable weekend with friends in this charming, spotless house, decorated with great taste. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the period furnishings give the place a special atmosphere. It's right in the heart of Richelieu, a pretty historic town, and close to Chinon and its wine cellars as well as lots of castles to explore in the region.

The room was spacious and spotless, with perfect bedding, and the whole place felt peaceful and very well cared for. The owner is passionate and shares the history of her region, her town, and her private mansion. This place feels simply magical. I highly recommend it 😊
