La Cour Tellier (Adults only)

The apartment was spacious, the kitchen had plenty of supplies, and the bed was comfortable. It’s also well placed for easy drives to champagne houses around the region. We thought the breakfast baskets were worth the extra cost: there was loads of food, usually warm croissants, baguette, eggs, fresh orange juice, yogurt, cheese, charcuterie, and fruit. The bathroom setup was awkward. Its half-glass door is completely clear, so you can see the whole bathroom from the bedroom. The shower also drained slowly, and we had to hurry to stop water from pooling and running onto the floor. We knew about the recent flooding and minimal damage when we booked, but no one told us the whole apartment smelled of mildew.

My friend and I spent four nights here in mid-July, and La Cour Tellier was the best place we stayed on our trip through France’s wine regions. Sixtine and Quentin were warm and easy to reach, gave us lots of useful tips, and made arrangements to suit us. The gite is well located for exploring the region, and Le Grand Cerf is an easy 20-minute walk away. We also tried Quentin’s champagne, a full-bodied but elegant sparkling wine that I think people will hear more about in the coming years. Our view over the vineyards of Rilly-La-Montagne was lovely. The furnishings were extensive and high quality, and breakfast was prepared and served individually. I’d happily come back.

We stayed four days in a cozy two-story holiday apartment for my wife’s birthday, because she’s the best wife ever! The beds were fantastic, and it had everything we could want. Thanks to the lovely hostess for making us feel so welcome.

We came across this new guest house almost by chance, and we’re already sure we’ll return. The price felt reasonable for the quality, and we loved the champagne we tasted during our visit to the owners’ winery, where we were lucky enough to take a tour. The guest rooms were new, and we were among the first to stay in them. We enjoyed the fresh, good-quality breakfast, comfortable accommodation, and warm welcome from the owners, who clearly wanted us to feel at home and took real care of us. It’s a lovely place to unwind among the vineyards, with a superb view of Reims and a reasonable distance from the city center.
