Auberge du Rochasson

The snowy valley views from the inn are wonderful, and the village is lovely to walk around. For getting to the resort, there’s a shuttle stop a short walk away, or you can drive about 15 minutes depending on the weather. We stayed three nights after we couldn’t find a booking at Risoul ski resort, and the owners’ advice on snowy mornings helped us get our car up there. They’re very kind, discreet, and available when needed. Breakfast was served at the table, with homemade jams and marmalades, toast, butter, pain au chocolat, and farm-fresh yogurt. The owner clearly puts care into it. Our room was cleaned every morning, and it was very clean, with a large wardrobe and a small TV that were enough for us. Since we booked late, though, our room was basic and the bathroom looked a bit dated compared with the photos. Our neighbors were also noisy the first night, so we took off a star for the room. Parking right in front or under the shelter behind the building was especially convenient after overnight snow. We’d happily come back and recommend the inn.

We loved the family feel of this hotel over the weekend. The staff were so kind and helpful, and Risoul ski resort is only a 10-minute drive away, which is a real plus. The evening meals are absolutely delicious, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. There’s a different menu each day, which you need to order in the morning for dinner. We’d gladly come back and recommend it.

We had a pleasant stay in this very clean room. The inn is peaceful, with a lovely view, and both dinner and breakfast were generous. The welcome was excellent, and we highly recommend it.
