Ibis Budget Perpignan Nord Rivesaltes

The staff were nice, and parking on the premises was free. Breakfast was very good, even though there weren’t many choices. The hotel is well connected. It’s basic, but that suited us since we were just passing through and wouldn’t use the facilities much. The room was just the right size for two adults and a child. The shower and bathroom are separate and practical, a bit like in a caravan. You’ll need a vehicle to see the city; I didn’t notice any transport options nearby.

The only real letdown was outside: the pool looked dirty and poorly cared for, and the garden seemed neglected too. I’d like to think the extreme heat and water restrictions explain it, but the outdoor areas looked nothing like the photo. Inside, the rooms were very clean, large and spacious. Having the toilet separate from the bathroom was convenient, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet was surprisingly varied and good.

I arrived without booking and had a room for two within minutes, then was able to extend my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, there’s lots of parking, and the lot is secured at night. Breakfast is served in the morning and felt just right for the price. I’ve paid more at other hotels and been much less satisfied. One suggestion: turn off the hall light overnight, or stop it shining into the room under the door. Thanks a mille.

At 8:10 AM someone opened my locked door, saw that the room was occupied, then quickly shut it and left. I can only wonder whether a staff member had the wrong room.
