Julie was friendly and welcoming, and communication about our stay and arrival time was excellent. She also provided a lovely breakfast in the morning. The cave stayed pleasantly cool during the hot weather and was still comfortable by morning. It’s not a cold experience at all. The furnishings are tasteful, making the interior a pleasant place to be. We ate on the terrace and enjoyed the garden and fantastic views across to the Loire. We’re a family of four and used both the regular double bed and sofa bed. They were comfortable, and we all slept well. The facilities are simple but had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return to the cave someday.

The hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. It’s such a peaceful, beautiful spot, and the caves are great for sleeping or just relaxing while looking out over the river.

We got a friendly welcome, and the cottage is spacious and well furnished, but it needs some maintenance. The patio door won’t lock, and the bathroom window no longer opens. There are no shutters or blackout curtains, and the ventilation system is noisy and can’t be switched off at night. It’s a shame the bamboo blocks the view from the small terrace. Getting there on foot means taking a narrow, very steep path.
