Le clos du square

We were in the area for a sporting competition and found the apartment very nice. It was practical and well laid out, with lovely decor. I highly recommend it.

The owners are super friendly, and the place is secure, very quiet, and close to town. There’s a large free parking lot just a few steps away. I’ll stop praising it before everyone books and leaves us without a place for the coming weeks! We’ve already booked for 2026. Thank you for everything.

We stayed in the house on Île Madame from August 4th to 9th, 2024. It’s accessible for people with reduced mobility and was very nice and well equipped, with a washing machine, dishwasher, air conditioning, spacious bathroom, and king-size bed measuring 180x200cm. The shaded terrace has space for outdoor meals and sunbathing. The sofa bed was comfortable, though the refrigerator was rather noisy at night. Christophe was welcoming and attentive to what we needed. He knows his town well and gave us great suggestions for making the most of our stay, including La Scala restaurant and Le Rade de la Méduse. The house is easy to reach by car, with free parking just steps away. Nearby are a Carrefour City supermarket, bakery, post office, tourist office, and plenty of other useful shops. It’s also roughly halfway between Île d'Oléron and La Rochelle, which cut down our travel time for outings. Fouras is the easiest beach option, and the setting by the Vauban fort is magnificent. I highly recommend the house and plan to return soon.

We had a fantastic weekend, especially the evening we spent at Clos du Square. The apartments are great, and the booking process and key instructions were excellent. A few people noticed a musty smell in house number 2, and it bothered them. Apart from that, everything was perfect. Thanks so much, Virginie.
