Logis Hôtel Médiéval, Montélimar Nord

My room was clean and the new bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was really good, better than at much more expensive places. There’s a children’s play area, a bar with great beers, a nice outdoor seating area, and a large bicycle room. I had a great one-night stay at this family-run hotel, with even the owners’ children helping out. The couple who took over in 2023 wanted to leave city life for a better life in the countryside. Not everything has been renovated, and the corridors still carry some of the previous owner’s atmosphere.

The main downside was the internet connection, which seems to be a problem throughout the town. The rooms are good and cleaned daily, with views over the castle. Each day, there are two free capsules for the modern Nespresso machine, fresh cups, and some sweets. In the centre of Rochemaure, this is a lovely historic hotel. The breakfast room and patio behind it are especially beautiful, with shady spots and views of the castle, and you can have breakfast or evening drinks there. The owners are very nice and helpful, and take care of your needs. I can recommend the hotel.

A relaxed, casual hotel with a lovely, generous breakfast and a nice terrace and garden. It’s dog-friendly, too. The refurbishment was still underway when I visited. I returned after my first stay two years ago, and it’s also very bike-friendly, with storage and repair facilities.

We didn’t stay overnight, but stopped for coffee, a croissant, and delicious local kombucha on the sunny terrace. The people working there were friendly and attentive. It was a calm, lovely moment in the sun at the foot of the chateau of Rochemaure.
