The setting near the Velodysse cycle route is lovely, and the meal was perfect. Valérie and Pascal made us feel so welcome, and Pascal kept the children laughing with his jokes and good humor. Make the most of a stay with them soon, as this is their final season.

Cyclists on the Nantes-Brest Canal can keep their bikes under shelter here. Pascal and Valérie were kind, pleasant hosts, and our spacious room had its own bathroom and a handy refrigerator. Dinner was excellent, with a set menu of Norman specialties. Breakfast was generous too, with homemade items and produce from Pascal’s distinctive greenhouse garden. We had a wonderful time. Thank you.

The short walk by the locks along the Nantes-Brest Canal was a highlight, and the garden produce at dinner and breakfast was delicious. Pascal patiently tends the garden and shared his interest in permaculture. Valérie and Pascal are a wonderful pair, and the whole place felt like a breath of fresh air after city life in Rennes, just 1 hour and 10 minutes from home. I left relaxed and refreshed, with a lovely memory to share with my daughter. We stayed in the spacious “Pays de Caux” room. It had several single beds and a separate bedroom that felt like a master suite, with its own bathroom and toilet. I loved the careful decor and the beautiful view from the suite’s window. Each guest room has its own style, drawing on “Pays de Caux” traditions alongside African, Baroque, and Breton touches. They’re certified by the Pontivy Tourist Office. Valérie welcomed us so warmly into her beautiful, positive home. She and Pascal are a friendly, energetic couple. Their story moved me, and they’ve kept smiling through hard times. Breakfast also brought a memorable meeting with a hiker who told us stories from his pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. We laughed so much! There’s plenty to enjoy here if you’re after quiet, nature, and tasty, healthy homemade food from the garden. I also tried some of the health offerings: the surprising foot detox, dietary advice, a delicious lighter banana pancake recipe, homemade cider and jams, and a friendly outdoor fitness class. That was all in one afternoon, evening, and morning. Hats off to them! I was impressed enough to book their next healthy cooking class for next month. I had such a great time with my daughter. This was a wonderful place to recharge, and we’re looking forward to coming back.

Dinner was even more fun because we shared the table with four delightful women whose humor was hilarious and refreshing. Out of the 13 stops on our Vélodyssée cycling trip, this was one of the best overnight stays. Thanks again for everything.
