Résidence Le Golfe Bleu

It's a great place to stay, with the beach, bus, and train only 5 minutes away. The main drawback is the lack of restaurants nearby. There's one on the beach that's much too expensive to consider, and a smaller one closer to Menton that's very good, but you need to check its opening hours.

The staff were very nice and helpful. We arrived a day early, and they helped us arrange an extra night. On departure day we left the apartment at 1000 hours, but they let us keep the car in the basement parking and lent us a key. Train connections to Monaco, Nice, and Menton are good and fairly priced. Overall it was a pleasant stay, and I wouldn't mind coming back, just keep in mind that it's not luxury. The apartment had what we needed, though the air conditioning was mobile and couldn't cool it while we were out. There's a small pool and a beach, but we didn't see any nearby little shop or mini market, which would have been handy instead of driving. The beach showers weren't working, perhaps because of the heat. The beach has sand but is mostly stony, so proper bathing shoes are a good idea. There are also lots of stairs down from the apartment, which wasn't a great combination with temperatures over 34. We love the quiet apartments and their sea views. At night, all you hear is the lovely sound of the waves. The reception ladies are friendly and helpful, and speak English, Italian, and French. The location works perfectly for us: close to the beach and the paragliding landing area, and right by the station where the shuttle to mont gros starts. We've been coming to Golfe Bleu for many years. There's also a lovely walk along the sea to monte carlo, about 3 km.

For the price, the location is hard to beat, though how good your stay is depends on which flat you get. Ours was in the bottom corner, with only a glimpse of the sea. It's a very quiet residential area, with no local shops or restaurants close by. You have to get bread and other things at reception in the morning. The kitchen was well equipped. If you have a small car, you can use the underground parking via a lift. It's great for walking along the coast to Menten or Monaco, and the beach is down lots of steps.
