Htel Restaurant Chez Janie

We had a wonderful time at Chez Janie, right on the Roscoff harbour. The terrace has stunning water views and makes a beautiful spot for a drink. Service was quick and efficient, and our waiter Ethan was friendly, attentive and made sure everything was just right. A relaxing drink with a view or a pleasant meal by the sea, both are good reasons to visit. We’ll definitely be back.

The atmosphere is first class, and so are the staff, both in the bar and dining room. This is always a favorite in Roscoff. The food is top notch, especially the seafood. Try the plat du mer, it looks spectacular and is fresh and unbeatable.

On a sunny day, the terrace is hard to beat. Janie is a perfect host, and the plat du jour, made with the best fish, was beautiful. The seafood products are top quality, from Atlantic and channel (La Manche) oysters paired with a hand-picked muscadet, to Valentina chocolate mouse.

The ladies serving us were kind and helpful, and the place itself is nice. My one star is for the gentleman who presented himself as the restaurant boss. He spent a lot of time telling me, falsely, that there was no plug to charge my phone instead of looking after our group of 14. Meanwhile, the manager could have checked the flooded toilet, the urine covering the whole floor, or the door blocking access to the toilet seat. Drinks were also delayed because of problems with the machine.
