Hotel Le Temps de Vivre

We spent a wonderful week at this comfortable, very friendly hotel in a picturesque seaside village. The staff were a highlight, and we really appreciated the booking communication and practical suggestions.

The view was lovely, the rooms were updated and clean, and the owners, their family and the staff were all so helpful. Breakfast was delicious, and they readily accommodated our requests. I’m forever grateful that they found my earring after I dropped it down the elevator shaft and shipped it to me in the US. One caveat: a couple of rooms aren’t easy to reach if stairs are a problem, though most are. My family stayed last month, and we can’t wait to return!

Our bedroom in the beautiful old granite mansion looked out over the high and low tides, with the sound of waves and wind. It was extremely clean, and we had plenty of towels and robes. On the 25th and 26th of December, the owner and manager of Le Temps de Vivre welcomed us warmly and helped carry our heavy luggage. He took time to tell us about the city, suggest places for dinner on the holiday, book our second dinner venue, and recommend places to visit. Professional, but warm, with a perfect British English accent for anyone who isn’t a French native. I’d recommend this hotel in winter, and it would obviously be great in summer too.

We paid €450 for a standard double room for two nights, without breakfast, and expected much more for that price. The room was average and didn’t meet what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel, with no wardrobe or proper surfaces for luggage and personal belongings. The central location is very convenient, but there are no free parking options nearby and the hotel’s parking is extremely expensive. Dry, withered potted plants and flowers also gave the place a neglected feel. The price is far too high for what the hotel offers.
