Holiday Inn Express Rouen Centre - Rive Gauche by IHG

The setting was clean and pleasant, and the reception and breakfast staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The paid parking was expensive, though, and access was awkward at check-in. We had to leave the car on the street while going to reception for help getting into the underground garage behind the hotel entrance.

We double booked by accident, our mistake, but the staff were helpful and management was understanding. They sorted it out with little fuss and were professional while still being very friendly. The stay was good, with clean, well equipped rooms and good beds.

The hotel was simple, quiet and comfortable, 2 km from the city center, with the streetcar as an option. I’m taking off two stars for the poor handling of breakfast, where there were no eggs left and no napkins, and for Wi-Fi that worked badly or sometimes not at all. Staff also lacked kindness and professionalism at check-in and checkout, with little information, no advice about the city and no feedback.

Stephanie, Louise, Salma, and Fabrice made me feel welcome throughout my stay at Holiday Inn Rouen Rive Gauche. They answered my questions about Rouen, gave me maps, and shared ideas for places to see. Stephanie even helped me buy train tickets, so I could visit Monet’s gardens. I was celebrating my birthday on my own while my family was abroad, and finding a birthday note and a little surprise in my room meant a lot. The team handled everything with care, from check-in to departure. Their warmth and professionalism made the visit memorable, and I’d gladly come back.
