Holiday Inn Express Rouen Centre - Rive Gauche

The manager was friendly, but the apartment was poorly equipped. There was no washing-up liquid, tea towel, or soap, and parking wasn't available unless booked in advance. Reception closes at 7.00 pm, the restaurant was shut, and there was no Internet that day. Apparently the problems were due to a change of management, so maybe things will improve.

The best part was how easy it was to walk into Rouen, which matters because parking is so limited. The little tourist train is worth a ride too, since it shows you things you might otherwise miss. The apartment itself was nice, but short on amenities, with no English instructions or fire safety notices that we could see, despite being on the fifth floor. The bed was small, and the induction hob stayed cold even though its light was red. We also had trouble getting into the garage because the English phone wouldn't accept the number provided. Emergency service noise carried on day and night. We couldn't find a nearby bar or restaurant, and Carfor opposite had very little bread to choose from.

We had everything we needed in the spacious apartment for a stopover, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The location is close to the city center, and private parking is available for a fee. We'd definitely stay again.

The place was clean and well located for our large business group. Staff were welcoming and attentive, and the whole arrangement went smoothly. They listened to what we needed ahead of time and stayed available to help once the booking was confirmed.
