The views over Carcassonne and Limoux are stunning, and the seating and dining spaces are beautifully done. We only ate there, though the pool looked lovely. The food was fantastic, the service great, and the prices felt fair for that standard. You can tell the young chef is very talented. We’ll be back soon, and I’d happily recommend a meal or a stay at this hidden gem.

We waited more than 30 minutes to pay, along with over 12 other diners, after a very slow meal on what was clearly a busy night. There was a lot of shouting from the kitchen, and the young chef was very rude and aggressive when we asked what was wrong. He first said he just worked there and it wasn’t his problem, then said it was his restaurant and he was in charge as a director when we asked to speak to someone responsible. The food was good, but the service and organisation were completely lacking. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all.

Eight years on, the Danen family still keep us coming back. They’re wonderful, and we couldn’t recommend the place more highly as either a boutique hotel or a high class restaurant. It’s a stunning domaine, with warm, friendly service, outstanding food and beautiful views.

My girlfriend and I first found Domaine Michaud while holidaying nearby about six years ago, and we’ve returned every year since. This time was especially meaningful because we got married there. We hired the whole place for two nights and had 65 of our closest family and friends join us for the day. Everything went faultlessly and exceeded what we’d expected. Huge thanks to Jolanda, Fred, Naomi and Sandor for all their hard work making the day so special and enjoyable for everyone. We’ve already booked our visit for next year 😃
