Villa des Roses

The walk into Roussillon takes about six minutes, and we loved going there in the evenings for dinner and those romantic views of this little Provence gem. Back at the house, the rooms, garden and pool all have such an authentic, thoughtful feel. The hosting couple made us feel like old friends, and we got along beautifully even though we don't speak French. I only wish we'd stayed longer. We'll definitely be back.

Getting to the lavender fields and Parc Camargue was easy from here, and the home itself was such a comfortable, relaxing place to return to. Everything was clean. Our hosts were incredibly considerate, even preparing breakfast at 5 a.m. on our first morning so we could head out early to photograph the lavender fields. We had a wonderful stay, well beyond what we expected.

After days out exploring sunny Provence, the pool was a lovely place to unwind. The rooms are spacious and bright, the estate is spotless, and breakfast was out of this world. Gérard and Lysianne were wonderful hosts, and she even went out of her way to make me gluten- and lactose-free cakes and pastries. Bring a small gift from your hometown if you visit. I guarantee you'll want to give them something when you leave.

Marion and Francois really went out of their way to welcome us and take care of us. The villa is absolutely beautiful, and the setting is stunning.
