Le Logis De Ruelle

The homemade jams, made with such care by the owner, were a real treat. We also felt warmly welcomed from the start, with sincere, attentive hospitality that made us feel expected and almost privileged. The bed and breakfast sits right on the banks of the Touvre River, in a beautifully renovated building where the tasteful details have clearly been considered. A special place I’d recommend without hesitation.

We had a memorable stay, and the hosts provided really good service. It was a lovely place to share with people who value comfort, beauty, kind hospitality, and warmth. Everything felt just right. Thank you to our hosts.

The breakfast was the letdown for me. I expected more choice, with a proper mix of sweet and savory things, but it was just coffee, tea, chocolate, toast, butter, jam, and a few slices of cheese and ham. Nothing special, unfortunately. The residence itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the rooms are well set up with very comfortable beds. A shame about the breakfast.

The bedding was good and breakfast was good too, so it worked well for one night. The house itself is beautiful, but it really isn't maintained as it should be. The bathroom in the blue room is tiny, with no ventilation or airflow except from the bedroom. The old windows, French windows, and wooden shutters need replacing, and the park gate stays open day and night. The mechanism for electrically closing the right gate leaf is broken into pieces. Such a shame for a house this lovely.
