The mosquito problem finally explains the price gap: this place cost about a third of other hotels with the same star rating during peak holiday season. The rooms felt old, damp, and dirty, with blood on the sheets, huge cobwebs in the corners, and shower drains that wouldn’t clear. There were no fans or window screens, so the rooms were full of mosquitoes. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless those conditions suit you.

We found this welcoming hotel on a long drive back to the UK, in a charming French village with a very peaceful setting. The rooms are basic but spotless, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The food was very good, though on the expensive side. I’d happily come back if I’m in the area again.

After a long drive, it was a lovely quiet place to stop. The hotel feels a little dated, like it’s still in the 1980s, but the restaurant was amazing. Try the regional menu, you won’t be disappointed.

The breakfast was included and delicious, and the hosts were very kind. It’s a rural hotel about 40 km from the coast, with large gardens. The rooms are spacious, attractive, and comfortable.

The service was lousy, and they seemed interested only in making money. They wouldn’t help when the room was wet or when we couldn’t get into the building. When we raised problems, they told us to leave the hotel. For a three-star place, they should know the difference between well done and rare.
