Stay, Saint-andre-de-roquelongue

The owners were helpful, and the surroundings are really nice. It’s a beautiful house, decorated with great taste. :)

Had a nice stay.

The estate has undeniable natural charm and is magnificent. Still, so much of the stay was a letdown. We arrived in the rain with our baby and found the door locked, with nobody there to welcome us. The room was neglected and damaged, and the bathroom was in poor shape, with mold, cobwebs, dust, an empty tissue box, empty glasses and water bottle, and an old radiator. The single-pane windows offered little insulation, especially in winter. Long, fraying floor strands caught on things, there was no hot water at the sink, the linens were rough, and we had to choose between a hand towel and a foot towel. Service was nonexistent, and the baby’s travel cot was broken. The “table d'hôtes” was just very meager frozen meals. Poor value for money. What a shame. We hope Domaine du Soleil Couchant does well and gets back to its former glory.

We spent one night there and didn’t meet the owners, even though they were present. An employee greeted us; she was friendly, but seemed inexperienced with customer service. It’s hard to understand all the positive reviews. The property must have had more charm once, but the garden and bathroom weren’t maintained, and there was mold in the bathroom. The meal was dreadful. It’s a tourist trap, avoid it. Such a shame, because the building could have character.
