Breakfast was lovely, especially the croissants the owner found, some of the best I’ve had on this trip. There was also a good choice of yogurt, fruit, cheese, charcuterie, and coffee. Our room looked onto a courtyard and had a coffee and tea station, a large bathroom with a shower and tub, and all the amenities we needed. It was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful antique bed and an exceptionally good mattress. Staying in this old bourgeois house, now thoughtfully restored as a small hotel, was a real treat. So much of the original Architecture is still there.

We had a cold glass of Prosecco waiting for us as an aperitif after travelling, and the hosts were wonderful. Our spacious room looked over the courtyard garden, with a separate dressing area and a bathroom bigger than some Paris flats. It had lovely antiques, a very good bed, and reading lamps. Even in August, the high ceilings and traditional shutters kept it cool and fresh at night. I visit St Antonin almost every year and know the places to stay, and La Pelisserie is top for comfort, value, and old-world charm.

I owe this review from a long time ago, so apologies! My two daughters and I stayed for two nights in June 2016, and the whole experience was faultless. The owners made us feel so welcome. The rooms were stunning, clean, and elegant. Breakfast was delicious, and the owner's fondness for classical music, which you don't hear often in French establishments, added to the lovely atmosphere.

We stayed at La Pelisserie in July 2016, the day the Tour de France passed through St Antonin. It’s a wonderful place in the centre of this beautiful historic town, close to bars and restaurants. The famous covered market used in several feature films is just along the way. La Pelisserie has plenty of history, with large rooms furnished with authentic pieces and objet d`art. Clinton and Denise were incredibly welcoming, and Clinton served a hearty breakfast at the table. Thoroughly recommend it, and I hope to return this year.

The Sunday market was a wonderful last-morning surprise. It was a high-quality market, with a big, lively brass band playing in the square, and none of us wanted to leave St Antonin or La Pelisserie. We’d booked two nights over Bastille weekend in 2016 at the last minute. Our children, 15 and 17, had been reluctant to leave their cousins elsewhere in France, and it was a more expensive choice, but we were glad we came. Clinton and Denise have decorated the charming, quirky old townhouse beautifully. The rooms are spacious and have en-suite bathrooms, and there’s a small sun terrace at the back. The bookshop and tourist office are across from the accommodation, with the high cliffs across the river visible from the door. The square, shops, and restaurants are just steps away. We enjoyed outdoor pizza at a nearby café in a little square, with live music one night. We booked kayaking too, and the river was so close we walked there in our wetsuits.
