La Feuillaie

We had to leave very early for our flight, and the hosts prepared us a full breakfast well before their usual serving time. They were incredibly gracious throughout, and dinner was spectacular: cold cuts, cheeses, wine, and soufflé. Be sure to request it ahead of time. The guest rooms have distinctive decor along one side of the upper floor, and the house sits in a beautiful garden beside the river. It felt like staying in a beautifully appointed home, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended.

Dinner was an unexpected highlight, served in an elegant dining room. The fish mousse with salmon and lobster sauce was memorable, and sharing the relaxed evening with the proprietors and other chambres d'hote guests made it even better. La Feuillaie was a welcome break after hours on the road during our overnight stop on 4 July 2016, on the way to the South West of France. The 18th century house stands in spacious grounds filled with unusual trees and birds. Our luxurious room blended old and modern details, with an eclectic collection of artworks, exceptional comfort, a state of the art shower and toilet, and spotless surroundings. The hosts were welcoming. We intend to return to sightsee and simply enjoy this wonderful place.

Ginger, the family dog, is great. The owners are charming, engaging, and delightful. Don't miss the big, delicious French breakfast. We'd definitely recommend the place to friends.

A very nice place to stay, with friendly guests. Our breakfast was almost entirely homemade.
