Breakfast was a lovely way to try the local produce, with different cheeses each day. We also enjoyed sitting in the yard outside our rooms, chatting quietly over a glass of wine. Marie-Laure made us feel at home, and was wonderful to talk to. Since our French is limited, it helped that she communicated so well in English. She also suggested places to visit, wines to try, and local dishes to discover. My family and I had a wonderful stay at La maison du bonheur.

We were glad to find somewhere quiet and away from the bustle, but still close to the motorway for our overnight stop on the way north. The rooms felt new, clean, and stylish, and we could park our car safely on the property. Our kind, friendly hostess served the dinner we’d ordered ahead, good country cooking made with regional products. We felt very comfortable and highly recommend La Maison du Bonheur. We wanted somewhere other than a typical hotel.

Breakfast was generous, and Marie Laure served it herself. A little fresh fruit such as kiwi or oranges might have been nice, though that’s a small detail in an otherwise very positive stay. The dog and Marie Laure gave us a very warm welcome, and she explained the gîte and room in detail. The location is handy for shops, the motorway, and the Beaujolais region, so exploring the area was easy. Marie Laure was very available, and we could easily chat about current events and other subjects. We highly recommend this guesthouse. Come without hesitation.

We were able to come and get changed at the house before the wedding at the castle next door. The owner was very friendly, and the rooms were lovely, with renovated bathrooms. She made us a delicious breakfast. The house of happiness really does live up to its name. Everything was perfect 💜
