We were sorry not to be able to stay with Tom and Antoinette on our return trip. We stopped for one night at the end of June on our way to Portugal with our two dogs, and they made us feel incredibly welcome. The house and gardens are stunning, breakfast was delicious, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The dogs loved the orchard and field. We hope to come back and highly recommend Le Presbytere as a stopover. Nita and Michael Stacey

The whole place was a joy, and our three generations, aged 17 to 80, all felt at home. Tom and Toinette are delightful, welcoming hosts and excellent cooks. We loved the peaceful atmosphere of the big house, with its books, photographs and antique furniture. The spacious, comfortable bedrooms are tastefully decorated, and the dining room was perfect for generous breakfasts. In the sitting room we played chess and Scrabble, watched TV, and chatted late into the night. We also spent time in the garden, went for a bike ride, and walked along the river with Toinette and the dogs. Tom prepared a delicious dinner. We'll definitely return, knowing Tom and Toinette will welcome us like old friends.

We spent six full days at Le Presbytere, using it as a base for day trips around the area and to Grandville, Saint Malo, Mont Saint Michel, Saint Lo and the D-Day memorials on the coast. This was our second stay, and it's the only place away from home that truly feels like home. Antoinette and Tom were extraordinarily hospitable. They treated us to delicious breakfasts suited to our vegetarian lifestyle, shared funny stories, and made everything feel cosy. The location is charming, and the bright, spacious rooms and bathrooms are lovely decorated. We also enjoyed peaceful moments in the garden and caught a glimpse of a perfectly clear, starry sky. We fell in love with Normandy on our first visit and will be back.

The breakfasts were gorgeous, and the three-course table d'hôtes for 20 Euros was exceptional. We spent two wonderful days, July 17th to 19th, at the Presbytère in Saint-Bômer les Forges, near Domfront and Bagnoles de l'Orne. The mansion is comfortable and right in the centre of this charming village. Mrs and Mr Jack were generous, hospitable hosts, always ready with helpful advice about the region. The bedrooms were spacious and very well decorated, and the bathrooms were perfectly clean, pleasant and original. We highly recommend it as a superb place to relax and enjoy this part of Normandy's countryside. Michel and Marie Moulin Lyon
