Cèdre et Charme

Nova, the border collie, is a star, and the large garden is beautiful. The rooms are spotless and get made up every day if you stay more than one night. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, though it’s French, so there’s less choice than we’re used to in the Netherlands. One of the owners gave us a very warm welcome and enthusiastically shared stories about the Touraine region and its place in France’s royal history. I’d certainly recommend staying here in the region.

The owners, Anne and Armand, made us feel so welcome. After our four-hour bike ride, they brought us drinks and chairs so we could sit outside, just what we needed. We hadn’t thought to ask about restaurants nearby, and there aren’t any close by, but they offered to drive us or make us a simple dinner. We chose dinner, and it was fabulous and homemade: quiche, salad, wine, cheese and bread, followed by a special chocolate dessert. The home is beautifully designed, full of architectural details, and wonderfully quiet at night. Our room was newly decorated in a simple, elegant style, with a very comfortable bed, towels and even washcloths. A lovely place to get some rest, and I highly recommend what Anne and Armand have created.

I was sorry to leave after just 3 nights in September 2015. The charming hosts, lovely food, and beautiful manor made the stay a pleasure. The location was great, and the bed was the best hotel bed I’d slept in in a decade. If seven stars were an option, I’d have given seven. Cheers, Wolf

The pool was a lovely 27 degrees, enclosed in a glass surround. Our room was beautifully furnished in a contemporary style, and the owners were wonderfully hospitable.
