Hotel Mas de Fauchon

We enjoyed the set menu and a nice bottle of wine while taking in the lovely view of the hills. It’s a peaceful, adult kind of place for lunch, and the menu was reasonably priced. Definitely worth the trip.

The location of Mas de Fauchon is beautiful, with lovely scenery and a real sense of peace. Our dog was warmly welcomed and had a great time exploring the large domaine. He seemed perfectly happy, despite the problems we noticed. Our room had doors that opened toward what might have been a stunning view, but bushes blocked it. They did give us privacy, which some guests may like, though we felt they took away from the setting. The hotel and restaurant feel neglected, and the rooms are worn. The air conditioning didn’t work, and an old portable heater smelled as if it had been around for decades. Even small things, like cheap printed plastic signs around the property, added to the tired feel. Dinner leaned heavily on traditional meat dishes with wine. That may suit people who enjoy classic French countryside meals, but we were disappointed by the baked-off bread and the lack of fresh dishes centered on vegetables, especially in a country known for its bread and vegetables. We’re very grateful to the kind, hardworking host, who seemed to be running both the hotel and restaurant on her own. Her dedication and professionalism made the stay easier, and she deserves a lot of credit. This might still appeal to countryside lovers or people who remember Mas de Fauchon from better days. The setting is wonderful and our dog loved it, but the dated facilities, poor upkeep, and uninspiring atmosphere make it hard to recommend at this price.

The grounds are gorgeous and well kept, with lovely views and a great pool. Our room was pleasant and clean, the staff were very helpful, and breakfast was very good. Dinner was amazing too. Hope to visit again.

The setting is stunning, looking out over the valley, and the service was great. We had a very special Sunday dinner, with spectacular food and desserts that were just wow. We took our time enjoying it all over a bottle of wine. What could be better?
