Hotel Olympic

There are several ski shops and supermarkets nearby, and the hotel has a games room and bar in the shared areas. The rooms were a decent size and had balconies, which came in handy for drying wet gear. The room I stayed in had a separate toilet, while the shower, bath, and sink were in a second bathroom. That worked well for our group since we could use them at the same time. The rental skis, boots, helmets, boards, and poles were good quality and in decent condition. The food and facilities were good, the staff were great, and the slopes are close. For a hotel rated only two stars, it was brilliant, especially for a school Snow Tour. I'd come again and recommend it if you're trying not to spend too much on accommodation. A quick thank you to our teachers for organizing the trip and to the staff for being so nice and helpful.

There are pub quiz nights, a pinball machine, a pool table, ping pong gear, and ski equipment for rent. The staff are really friendly and helpful, always ready to offer something. It's a good budget hotel for groups from the United Kingdom. Breakfast is pretty good, with croissants and pain au chocolats. Lunch is average but hot, while supper can be tasty or not so nice.

The staff were very kind and helpful, and they all speak English. That's about the only good thing I can say. The hotel is vile. We found dead bugs that we thought might be bed bugs, plus mouldy crushed crisps under the bed and tables. There's no TV, kettle, or anything like that, just beds, a bin, a mirror, and a bathroom. The toilet is separate and tiny. The balcony doors were really hard to shut, the rooms, lounge, and bar are very dated, and the food is awful. The soup is the only decent thing. It's not far from the ski lift, but it takes a while to get there with all your gear on. The beds slide away from the wall, the sheets are yellow and stained, and you only get one pillow and a really thin duvet. That's not what you want when it's around -4°C. The walls are marked and badly painted too. A small can of fizzy juice costs £2.50 and a chocolate bar £1.50, far too expensive. I don't think I'll be back soon. If your budget is extremely tight, it might do the job.

The bedrooms are decent, but the food isn't very good. The location is amazing. Serre Chevalier is a lovely village, especially in winter, and the resort has 250 km of piste with a range of difficulties on and off piste.
