The setting in the middle of one of France's loveliest villages, maybe even one of Europe's, is hard to beat. We came on the Michelin guide's recommendation and had a fantastic meal. The mushroom pie was especially good, better than any traditional English pie we've had, and we're English. Cheese and aperitif were top notch too. The dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. I can't recommend the place enough.

At Auberge du Sombral, the food was the highlight, with every dish full of creative flavors. The scallops were seared just right, and the main course felt like a culinary masterpiece. The welcoming atmosphere and attentive, genuinely hospitable staff made the meal memorable. I recently ate here and was thoroughly impressed, and I'd highly recommend it for a special dining experience.

The welcome and setting were wonderfully charming, and the wine was excellent. For lunch, I began with a specialty, mushrooms in a puff-pastry ramekin, which looked lovely and tasted delicious. The lamb and potatoes were excellent too. The walnut cake with a layer of mousse was only so-so, as the cake was a little dry. Still, it was a memorable meal in beautiful dining rooms with a very warm welcome. It was the most enjoyable déjeuner I had in three months in France.

The food was much better than I expected for a tourist area. We had a really pleasant, tasty meal, and the restaurant has an elegant, classic feel. Service was perfect.
