The homemade French breakfast, made with local ingredients, was a lovely part of each day. We found the hosts friendly and helpful with ideas for places to visit and eat, too. The farmhouse is old and full of character, renovated beautifully and decorated with care. With nature all around and a calm, lovely setting, it was just right for switching off and enjoying the scenery. We’d happily return if we’re in the area again.

The breakfast was a spectacular spread of homemade breads and jams, and the hosts pointed out some great places to see around the city. They’d also booked us a dinner reservation, which we really appreciated. From the parking area, we were welcomed and shown to a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind room with a comfortable bed, a beautiful bathroom, and lots of thoughtful touches that made it feel homey. It was so quiet, with a lovely view of the forest. The host even made an effort to speak Spanish with us, which was very sweet. A really romantic place, with wonderful hosts.

That evening picnic in the “outdoor living room” was a highlight. Our hosts made it feel special with candles and a nicely set table. We stayed one night at Le Mas de Laval in September, and it was one of the best parts of our trip to France. The room was lovely, with tasteful furnishings, and breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade bread and jams. We’d recommend this distinctive, beautiful place without hesitation.

Such a fairytale-like setting, and the hosts were so warm and lovely. We had a really pleasant stay, and the kids had a great time too.

I stayed here years ago and loved it. Now I’m hoping to plan another trip around coming back.
