Hôtel Auberge de la Motte Jean

We were there for five nights as a family, and our charming studio had a large terrace facing the park. It was in a lovely old building from the early eighteenth century. The hotel grounds include a garden and a small pond, a peaceful place to unwind, though Cancale and the lovely Gueslin beach are only a short drive away. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade bread and crêpes, plus local jams, honey, chocolate spread, and more. The staff were kind and helpful, and the prices seemed fair.

Magnolia was a clean, cozy little house, with the bedroom upstairs and a well equipped kitchen that worked perfectly for making lunch each day. The garden and quiet surroundings were lovely, with birds, ducks, and carp by the pond. We brought our bikes, and it was 2.5 km to Plage du Guesclin, one of Brittany's most beautiful beaches, and 2 km to a very good supermarket in Cancale. We spent three nights at this great hotel de la Motte Jean. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. Wi-Fi was the one weak spot. It wasn't strong enough for working on a PC, so I ended up with a book in one of the garden lounge chairs, which turned out to be a nice way to spend the time.

We stayed just one night, my girlfriend and I, and loved it. The room was cozy and comfortable, the gardens were beautiful, and the staff were friendly. Such a good place for a relaxing getaway.

The staff were really kind, and the gardens are fabulous. It's a quiet spot for relaxing in the countryside, though the rooms felt a little small and the decor somewhat dated. If you want peace and quiet, you may love it. Others might think it's a bit overpriced for the amenities and find better lodging in town. If you're arriving without a car, there's a bus stop by the farm entrance, about 500 m from the two main buildings.
