Villa Les Grenels

We don't usually leave online reviews, since people often only mention the bad, but Les Grenels gîte deserved an exception. We had a wonderful stay in the former dovecote from June 17th to 24th, 2017. It was scorching outside, so the pool felt like a little slice of paradise, with lovely views and no one overlooking it. The children had a blast during the day, and we adults enjoyed it after they were in bed. The house is cute, comfortable, and very clean, even if it isn't perfect. The stairs are a little steep but manageable. The upstairs bedroom got very hot in that weather, as expected, and Thierry kindly lent us a tower fan that made things much easier. The downstairs bedrooms stayed cool and were wonderfully relaxing. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, especially fresh water in the fridge, games for the children, and unlimited ice. We saw no mice, despite earlier comments. There were a few insects, but that's normal, isn't it? Thierry made us feel at ease right away and was discreet while looking after the pool and the two adorable goats in the woods. The girls adored them and were sad to leave. We brought them bread or fruit and vegetable peelings each day, which was great fun. Thanks again, we'll come back another time with friends!

The pool was nice and the location good, but our rented dovecote at Les Grenels had a strong musty smell when we arrived. It was full of spiders and insects, and especially rodents. The walls had holes and cracks that seemed to let them in. I didn't sleep soundly at all.

We've rented Les Remparts at the same time of year for five years, and hope to keep doing so for many more. The owners are super welcoming, and the house is perfect for children, especially with its heated indoor pool.

We had a wonderful family stay with our three children. The place is unpretentious, with peaceful surroundings, a magnificent view, and a pool. We will definitely return. Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts for such a beautiful place :)
