The apartment was very new, with good service and a warm atmosphere. Underground parking is available for 12 euros a night, with an automatic door.

We were left to find somewhere else at the last minute, with no real apology, explanation, or help finding alternative accommodation. The hotel cancelled our reservation just TWO DAYS before we were due to arrive, even though we’d booked months ahead. It wrecked our carefully planned vacation and our son’s birthday celebration, which we’d organized around the trip. This was a complete disgrace and showed no responsibility or professionalism. I strongly advise people to avoid this hotel. If you care about your plans, your family, or basic respect as a customer, look elsewhere.

We stayed four nights at the Villa Medici in a nice, quiet one-bedroom apartment, and the booking price was very reasonable. Versailles is easy to reach, with public transport nearby, and I’d still recommend the place. The tourist tax, though, was excessive: €45 for four days for one person is out of line for hotels. It wasn’t too bad in the end, but they should mention the amount when you book so there are no surprises. I was also surprised that the common areas aren’t cleaned daily. The lovely red carpet was covered in sand and dust all week.
