The library dinner was a lovely way to celebrate my birthday, and the rich chocolate tart with its witty “0” candle made me laugh. We had a tasty, filling meal with champagne, of course. Earlier, Véronique and Brendan had suggested a tour at the local Pannier champagne house before we reached their B&B. It was a perfect start to our long drive through France, Spain, and Portugal. They welcomed us and our dog warmly, and Le Clos de la Rose, with its house and garden, really felt like the French countryside. We’d happily recommend it.

Veronique was thoughtful and accommodating, and this is a lovely family-run B&B. We used the car and train to get to Paris and the surrounding areas. It’s doable, though you’ll want to plan the timing and logistics.

The owners made us feel right at home, and breakfast was wonderful, with lovely homemade food. 🏡

The location is good and so is the food, but it arrived slowly and that spoiled lunch.

My husband and I had a great time here. Such a charming, cosy place, and I highly recommend it.
