Château de Blavou

Our suite, St. Honore, was where the Castle King stayed, and it felt like a royal treat. It was huge, beautifully furnished, and seriously impressive. The castle dates from the 1500s and sits on spectacular grounds, with lovely scenery all around. Pascal, the owner and a master chef, made us a delicious three-course dinner. In the morning, his very attentive wife Isabelle served homemade pastries and jam. A really pleasant stay, we enjoyed it a lot. Thank you!

We only had one night, but I’d happily recommend this place for a long weekend or a short break. The grounds are peaceful and pretty, and the owners and their dogs are very friendly. Breakfast was homemade and incredible, and we’ll make sure to try dinner next time. Our suite was spacious and well presented, with a spiral staircase entrance and lovely views. You can feel the castle’s history all through the building.

The rooms were in unacceptable shape, and the staff were rude and unfriendly from the moment we arrived. The place feels neglected, run-down, and poorly maintained. It was gloomy and unwelcoming, and left us feeling sad and uncomfortable. Even though our stay was brief, the experience was undeniably unpleasant.

The food was a highlight, with a wonderful home-cooked dinner and breakfast made from fresh ingredients. It was some of the best food we’ve eaten. We had an amazing night at this beautiful Chateau in a lovely area, and could watch deer in the garden through the dining room window. The rooms are all lovely, and our hosts were warm and welcoming. They’re dog friendly too. We’d definitely go back!
