The balcony had a lovely view over the slopes, and the hotel is right in the heart of Auron, about 30 metres from the teleriou that gets you to the slopes in two minutes. It was quiet, too. My room was warm and functional, with a hot shower, decent blackout curtains and a balcony big enough to use as a fridge in winter. There’s no mini fridge, so bring your own toiletries as well. It’s an older place, and you can see that in the rooms. Mine was comfortable enough for me on my own for four days, though I’d find it cramped with another person for longer. Check-in was friendly and quick, and there’s a ski room for boots and skis. Parking outside is first come, first served, but there are other spaces in the village, and you can unload at the rear entrance. The restaurant in the same building is run separately, but you can reach it from the hotel. The food and drinks were fantastic, both inside and on the terrace. Rooms in Auron are never cheap, so that’s part of the deal. I wouldn’t expect luxury, but for a warm, practical place to sleep I’d definitely come back. Merci!

We found it cosy and comfortable, and very good value for the money. The large double room had a nice view and worked well for a family. It came with two bathrooms, each with a toilet, plus one shower and a corner bathtub. Dinner was tasty, the staff were lovely, and breakfast was great. The main lift is right across from the hotel. The one thing to know is there’s no elevator, just lifts up to the second floor.

The woman who welcomed us was lovely, and the fluffy bedspread was nice. That’s where the good parts ended. We had a three-bed room with just two towels, five shampoo sachets scattered about and three bars of soap. The shower doors wouldn’t shut and there was nowhere to hang the shower head. Crumbs covered the floor, and the room smelled a bit musty, so we had to air it out. I didn’t expect much going in, but it still fell well below par.

For 100€ a night, this was the worst money I’ve spent. The room was tiny and completely outdated, and the hotel looked ugly. It felt like they were charging as if it were five-star. Really bad stay, I’d avoid it.
