Hotel Rouen Sud - Oissel Rond Point des Vaches

The reception team and breakfast were excellent, so many thanks to them. Housekeeping was a different story. Checkout is at 12:00, but from around 8:30-9:00 a.m. they were extremely noisy, as if trying to wake everyone. They even knocked and immediately opened the door and came into our room. Our son in the next room wasn't feeling well, and we needed to check out around 11:30, but the housekeeping noise went on without stopping.

For the price, it was a good value stopover on our way south and back. I'd stay again, but I'll bring earplugs because you can hear everything through the very thin walls and floors. The room is very basic, with no A/C, and the towels need renewing or a boil wash. The bathrooms could use a facelift. On the plus side, it was easy to reach and reasonably priced, with comfy beds, a hot shower, a really nice fresh breakfast with lots of choice, and a great welcome from reception. You get what you pay for.

It's basic, but very comfortable and clean, and you get a lot for the price. Excellent breakfast choice and quality for 10 euros.

The staff were friendly and helpful on both visits, and they'll be the reason I use this hotel again. I arrived late and hungry after a long drive last night, when the kitchen was closing, actually 15 minutes after closing time. Before I'd even checked in, the receptionist quickly took my food and drink order. I ate and had a beer, then got my room key, and actually paid the next morning. The lovely receptionist also gave me a charcuterie plate to tide me over until my main dish arrived. All the staff spoke perfect English. This was my second stay. Since my first visit in June 24, the building has been decorated inside and out. It's not a picturesque location, but it's right on the highway between Calais and Le Mans, 2.5h from Calais, so it's an ideal stop on the way to or from the UK.
