Madame Vacances Les Chalets Super D

The good parts were the low price, a tidy apartment when we arrived, a balcony with a nice view, and enough parking around the resort. It had basic cooking gear, a bathtub, a working elevator, and we had no water or power outages. The rest felt dated. The microwave and laggy TV were about the only things that made it seem newer than the 1960s, and only a couple of TV channels worked. The water tasted off, the beds were only about 1.8-1.9 m long, and the walls inside the apartment did little to block sound. The entrance lock was awkward to operate and the door creaked. There was no shower head holder, and the hose was a bit short. It was one of the eight houses called les Chalets de SuperD / Le Chardon Bleu, in a small apartment in a seven-floor building. The car couldn't get closer than 200 metres from the apartment. There was no internet, and the ski cellar was just an unheated locker, so nowhere proper to dry boots. Bedding isn't provided by default, which may be common in France, but I still think that's wrong. For me, it comes to 2.5/5 stars.

A star for being near the ski slopes, another for the lift, and one for the effective electric heating. Still, I can't see how these tiny apartments are meant to fit six people.

I love this place, so I’m probably not impartial, but the surroundings and resort are really pleasant. Superdevoluy has all you need for a great family holiday, with trail running, mountain biking, basketball, hikes, and all the winter sports. It's a well-kept holiday residence with lots of apartments to rent, including mine, and several agencies offer them at reasonable prices. Superdevoluy will host a stage finish of the 2024 Tour de France.

Good atmosphere, and the place is right by both the slopes and the shopping arcade. The accommodation is small and not new, but it works well.
